Episode 13: Optimizing Your Breastfeeding Journey with Therese Dansby, IBCLC
We sat down with RN & IBCLC Therese Dansby to merge perhaps one of the most important combinations for motherhood: metabolic health + breastfeeding. In a culture where there seems to be two sides yelling "breast is best!" or "fed is best!," we're here to say that perhaps "nourished & supported breastfeeding is best." The hard truth is that breastmilk nutrition does not stay fixed. The nutrition of your breastmilk is absolutely determined by your own nourishment as a mom. So that does that mean we're saying to outsource to formula to ensure that baby is getting what baby needs? Absolutely not! We're saying that moms. need. NOURISHMENT. And moms need support to make that happen- whether that's through help, lifestyle shifts, financial readjustments, or simply the environment in which the mom feels like the power is back into her hands.
